About TIMLAR
Safety should not require unlocking your phone.
What TIMLAR is
TIMLAR is a safety-session system for people who want trusted contacts to know what is happening when normal phone interaction is impractical, unsafe, or undesirable. It is a communication and escalation layer between a person and the people they trust.
It is not an always-on tracker, a surveillance dashboard, or an SOS button. TIMLAR is session-based: you decide when a session starts, who receives it, and when it ends.
Why it exists
There are moments in everyday life when you want someone to know you are okay, or to know if you are not. The school run. The late journey home. The solo hike. The difficult appointment. In those moments, reaching for your phone to send a message is not always possible or safe.
TIMLAR gives your trusted people the context they need, without asking you to keep your phone open or to broadcast your location all the time.
The principles
- Core safety is free. The features that matter most are not behind a paywall.
- Tracking is session-scoped. Location is shared only while a session is active. It stops when the session ends.
- Trusted people, not surveillance. Only the people you choose can see your session.
- Failure is visible. Stale location, poor connectivity, and critical battery are shown explicitly.
- Less during danger. As a session becomes more serious, the interface becomes simpler.
- Privacy is a product feature. You can see who can see you, when tracking is active, and when it ends.
Where we are now
TIMLAR is in active development. The core session engine, trusted circle management, foreground location, and mobile authentication are implemented. Background location, recipient notification delivery, the recipient web viewer, and voice activation are partially integrated and not yet release-ready.
We are building carefully. Every capability is validated on real devices before we call it done. We will update this page as the product matures.
